Lucid-Nuro-Uber Robotaxi Debuts at CES 2026, Targets Bay Area Launch
Lucid Group, Nuro, and Uber unveiled their production-intent robotaxi at CES 2026, marking a pivotal step toward autonomous ride-hailing services. The Gravity SUV-based vehicle features Nvidia DRIVE AGX Thor computing and 360-degree perception via roof-mounted lidar, cameras, and radar.
Road testing commenced in December across San Francisco with safety operators. The cabin accommodates six passengers with interactive displays showing real-time road perception. Production begins later this year at Lucid’s Arizona facility ahead of the planned Bay Area service launch.
The collaboration accelerates the convergence of EV manufacturing (Lucid), autonomous tech (Nuro), and ride-hailing infrastructure (Uber) – a trifecta poised to disrupt urban mobility.
